Consultation before treatment

From Irina

Hear Irina explain the O-Shot®

Irina explains PRP, what to expect, and why your care starts with a private consultation.

Start with your words

You do not need the perfect medical term.

Many women wait because they are unsure how to describe what is happening, or because they have been told it is simply part of childbirth, aging, or menopause. You can say it exactly as it feels. Nothing has to sound clinical.

These concerns are common, but that does not make them trivial. They deserve a calm medical conversation that centers your comfort, health, and goals.

"I feel dry, sore, or uncomfortable."
"Intimacy does not feel the way it used to."
"It is harder to reach orgasm."
"I leak when I laugh, sneeze, run, or jump."
"Something changed after childbirth or menopause."
"I feel less like myself and do not know where to start."

The treatment

What the O-Shot® is, in plain English.

The O-Shot® is a branded procedure that uses platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, prepared from a small sample of your own blood. PRP contains concentrated platelets and growth factors involved in the body's natural healing response.

After numbing, the PRP is injected into selected intimate tissues. Because symptoms can have different causes, the procedure is not automatically the right answer for every woman. Irina evaluates you before recommending it.

Different women, different questions

The reason you ask matters as much as the procedure.

Dryness after menopause, discomfort after childbirth, reduced sensation, and leakage with exercise do not always share the same cause. A useful plan starts by understanding when the change began, how it affects you, and what else may be contributing.

That is why IB Therapy does not treat the O-Shot® as a one-size-fits-all package. The same procedure can be a reasonable discussion for one woman and the wrong next step for another.

Postpartum or breastfeeding-related changes
Perimenopause or menopause
Dryness, burning, or discomfort
Reduced sensation or difficulty reaching orgasm
Leakage with coughing, laughing, or activity
A persistent concern that may need a different evaluation

Your first visit

The consultation is a decision visit, not a commitment.

You will talk privately with Irina about what has changed, what you hope to improve, your health history, and any medications that may affect treatment. An examination is performed only when clinically appropriate and with your consent.

You can ask questions, pause, or decide not to proceed. If the O-Shot® is not the right fit, Irina will explain why and discuss another option, a referral, or no procedure at all.

Schedule a Private Conversation

If you move forward

What happens during the O-Shot® appointment.

The complete visit is typically about 45 minutes. The injections themselves take only a few minutes, and Irina explains what is happening before each step.

  1. Review the plan and any remaining questions
  2. Draw a small sample of blood
  3. Prepare the platelet-rich plasma
  4. Apply numbing for comfort
  5. Perform brief, targeted injections
  6. Review personal aftercare before you leave

Comfort and recovery

Know what may happen before you decide.

Numbing is used before treatment, but comfort varies from person to person. Temporary tenderness, swelling, spotting, or changes in sensitivity can occur after the procedure.

Many women return to ordinary daily activities quickly, but that is not the same as promising zero downtime. Irina gives you personal guidance about exercise, intimacy, and what should prompt a call to the clinic.

Candidacy and safety

Not everyone is a candidate, and that matters.

Pregnancy, an active vaginal or urinary infection, certain blood or platelet disorders, uncontrolled medical conditions, and some medications that affect bleeding or platelet function may change whether treatment is appropriate.

Persistent pain, bleeding, discharge, or urinary symptoms may need a different evaluation before an elective procedure is considered. This is not a complete screening list. Your medical history and current symptoms must be reviewed with Irina.

Evidence and limits

What current research can and cannot say.

Research on platelet-rich plasma for vulvovaginal and sexual-health concerns is still developing. Studies are generally small and use different methods, so they do not establish the same benefit for every woman or every concern.

Results vary, and no result is guaranteed. This page does not describe the O-Shot® as FDA-approved for these uses. The consultation is where Irina explains the potential benefits, known risks, limits of the evidence, and alternatives in the context of your health.

A personal plan

One procedure or part of a broader pelvic-health plan?

Depending on the cause of your symptoms, your goals, and your response, Irina may discuss the O-Shot® on its own, another pelvic-health treatment, a combination plan, or a referral for a different kind of care.

The goal is not to sell every woman the same procedure. It is to help you understand the options and choose the next step that makes sense for you.

O-Shot® as a standalone option when appropriate
A pelvic-health treatment plan using EmpowerRF technologies
A different medical evaluation or referral
No procedure when the expected benefit does not justify it

Common Questions

What patients ask before booking.

Short, honest answers first. Irina can go deeper during your private consultation.

Do I need to know the right words for my symptoms?

No. You can describe what feels different in ordinary language. Irina will ask respectful questions to understand when it began, how it affects you, and what may need further evaluation.

What exactly is the O-Shot®?

It is a branded procedure that uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of your own blood. After numbing, the PRP is injected into selected intimate tissues.

Is the O-Shot® right for every woman?

No. Irina first reviews your symptoms, medical history, medications, and goals. She may recommend the O-Shot®, another pelvic-health treatment, a combination plan, or no procedure at all.

What happens if I am not a candidate?

Irina will explain why the procedure is not the right next step and discuss a more appropriate treatment, evaluation, referral, or no procedure. The consultation is still meant to give you clarity.

Does the procedure hurt?

Numbing is used before the injections, which take only a few minutes. Comfort varies from person to person, and Irina explains each step before treatment.

How long does the appointment take?

The complete visit typically takes about 45 minutes, including the blood draw, PRP preparation, numbing, treatment, and aftercare instructions.

Is there downtime?

Many women return to ordinary daily activities quickly, but recovery varies. Temporary tenderness, swelling, spotting, or changes in sensitivity may occur. Irina gives you specific guidance about exercise and resuming intimacy.

How many treatments will I need?

There is no universal schedule. Some women may have one procedure, while others may discuss additional sessions or a combination with other pelvic-health treatments. Your plan is individualized.

When will I notice a change?

There is no single timeline that applies to everyone. Response varies, and some women may not experience the change they hoped for. Irina discusses realistic expectations based on your concern and health history.

How long do results last?

There is not enough consistent evidence to promise a specific duration for every woman. Any discussion of timing, follow-up, or another session is individualized rather than guaranteed in advance.

What does the research show?

Research is still developing. Existing studies are generally small and use different protocols, which limits how confidently results can be predicted for an individual woman or a specific concern.

Is the O-Shot® FDA-approved for these uses?

This page does not claim that the O-Shot® is FDA-approved for intimate or sexual-health uses. Irina will explain the procedure, available evidence, risks, alternatives, and what is being recommended before you decide.

Can the O-Shot® be combined with pelvic floor treatments?

It can be part of a broader pelvic-health plan for some women. Irina decides whether a combined approach makes sense after evaluating your concerns and goals.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is discussed during the consultation because the appropriate plan may be the O-Shot® alone or a combination with other pelvic-health care. You will know the recommendation and cost before choosing treatment.

How is my privacy handled?

Appointments are one on one in a private Naperville clinic. You can keep an online booking request brief and discuss sensitive details directly with Irina during your visit.

Next step

You do not have to decide on a procedure today.

Bring the concern you have been carrying, even if you are not sure how to explain it. Irina will help you understand what may fit, what may not, and what a realistic next step looks like.
